Foolproof Feeding Schedule for 1 Year Old
Struggling with sleep problems and regression in your toddler? Check out these daily 13 month old nap schedule examples for ideas!
Once your baby turns a year old, nap schedules can be thrown off track. He's shedding his infant habits and will soon be dropping a nap within a few months. Just when you had finally gotten a hang of nap times, his routine is starting to change once again.
Getting him to sleep for bedtime has been harder to do, especially when he doesn't have enough time awake after that second nap. He's in a transition phase where you're altering his routine, especially as he's hitting new milestones.
It's no wonder that his sleep schedule can start stressing you out once again.
Examples of a 13 month old nap schedule
That's why I wanted to gather several examples of a good nap schedule for this particular stage.
Many toddlers at this age are still taking two naps, with most dropping to one nap around 14-18 months old. This explains why you might be experiencing some disruptions to your day (and night).
Tip: Limit the first nap to 1-1.5 hours at most. Otherwise, your toddler will likely take a long morning nap and a shorter afternoon one (or refuse the second one completely). You might even avoid those pesky early morning wake ups by keeping that first nap short.
And if he happens to have a short or skipped nap, move his bedtime earlier to accommodate his need for sleep.
While it might be too early for one nap, seeing how other moms structure their days can help you create your own 13 month old nap schedule. Below are several examples to start you off:
